![]() ![]() Honestly, I would be very selfish with this beer. This beer is light on the tongue, it’s smooth and goes down easy. To simply describe it this is an amber beer with a pumpkin pie spin on it. ![]() This beer is almost the perfect pumpkin pie in a cup. ![]() A well-balanced and wonderfully flavored beer. Onto the flavor! Wow this beer is pretty much everything I want a pumpkin beer to be! It has a spice to it, as well as a nice malt influence and light bitter twinge of hops. After taking in the bouquet, my mouth was watering even more. The aroma is divine! My first sniff reminded me of the Caffe Ladro pumpkin pie (which is my favorite pie ever!) It is exactly what I want a pumpkin beer to smell! Underneath the overt spiced aroma of the pumpkin pie is the subtler sweet aroma of a freshly carved pumpkin with a twinge (just a small twinge) of hops. Despite this, the beer is a beautiful color that started my mouth watering. A few of the pumpkin beers are more opaque. I was surprised by the clarity of the beer. I have actually never purchased the Elysian Pumpkin Ale but I have fallen in love with it! When I first poured this beer into the glass I noticed the Amber, slightly orange color of the beer. Ever since, it has been one of my favorite styles of beer! Elysian introduced me to the Pumpkin Beer through their Pumpkin Beer fest a few years back. As I mentioned in my last article, I love this part of the year! Why? Because of this kind of beer right here. Well it’s finally turned to fall here in the Seattle area. First post up on the Night Owl Pumpkin Ale is from Matt Anderson. You can follow Matt on Twitter Note: We are doing a fall/seasonal series on Pumpkin Ale, this one from Elysian Brewing. ![]()
